Notes: Inscribed by the author on the flyleaf: 'Arthur and Trudy Bliss, with J.B. Priestley's good wishes, August 1930'. The friendship of Priestley with the composer had begun in the 1920s, when they were neighbours in Chelsea, and yielded a collaboration in 1949, with Priestley writing the libretto for Bliss's opera 'The Olympians'. A novel of contemporary London.
