Notes: Inscribed by the author on the flyleaf: 'Arthur and Trudy Bliss, from their friend Jack Priestley, April 23rd 1932'. The friendship of Priestley with the composer had begun in the 1920s, when they were neighbours in Chelsea, and yielded a collaboration in 1949, with Priestley writing the libretto for Bliss's opera 'The Olympians'.
