Description: Seven works bound in one, a little dusty at the edges but a very pleasing volume; pp. 'vii' (i.e. vi), [2], 72, '45'-'47', [1], [2] remarks; xi, [1], 83, [1]; v, [1], 65, [1]; iv, [2], 83, [1]; [iv], 40; [4], 68; [4], 68, 12mo. untrimmed in mid nineteenth-century marbled paper covered boards, cloth spine, red label, gilt letered; paper rubbed, with loss to the lower board.

Notes: After two centuries forgotten and mostly out of print, William Oxberry resurrected Chistopher Marlowe with these editions, which precede by nearly a decade the collected edition by William Pickering (3 vols 1926). Oxberry began editing and publishing all the plays individually, notably still including Lust's Dominion, which had been disattributed by the time Pickering's edition appeared. Oxberry had a competitor in the form of James Broughton, who also published an edition of Marlowe in 1818 (with C. Chappell junior, at the Royal Exchange).
