Description: FIRST EDITION, 63 plates with numerous illustrations of works from the author's collection, 22 of these colour-printed and with captioned tissue-guards, title-page printed in black and red, a few faint spots to opening and terminal leaves, pp. xvi, 382, folio, original quarter beige cloth with blue boards, backstrip lettered in gilt on a blue leather label, device stamped in blind to upper board, edges untrimmed and slightly spotted, endpapers spotted, dustjacket with plate laid down to front panel, a waterstain to backstrip panel and a little ragged at extremities, very good
