Notes: Fawcett writes to a 'Dear Sir', explaining that an earlier letter was 'not written by my husband [Henry Fawcett, Liberal politician] but by his secretary Mr F.J. Dryhurst now of the Home Office'; she closes in reference to an enclosed photograph (not present), which was 'taken about 1868 at Brighton, yours very truly, M.G. Fawcett'.
