Notes: Signed by Harry Kemp on the verso of the title-page, this dated to the year of publication. The 'others' are Norman Cameron, Alan Hodge and Robert Graves, who with Kemp and Riding had collaborated on the final two sections of this book when they were originally published in 'Epilogue'. Riding receives a higher billing due to her presiding role over the whole work, in both concept and content. Kemp had earlier been drawn to Communism whilst at Clare College, Cambridge, but here renounces it forcefully, and scorns its effects, under the influence of Riding....more
