Notes: Scarce. The Anglo-American peer's first book: brought up in Wyoming, Gerald Wallop, the son of the 8th Earl of Portsmouth (a title to which he succeeded), attended Balliol College and became a Conservative MP the year after this book was published; he published a second book with the Crosbys in 1929, but subsequent work was in the form of agricultural tracts that evinced a developing tendency towards the far-right.
