'Captain Salvation' is his third novel, preceded also by two collections of short stories and a shipping history - these, as well as a forthcoming further collection of stories, are listed as his 'Previous Books' on the headed label pasted to the inside cover. The present work is perhaps the best-known, and somewhat typical with the career of its hero, Anson Campbell, bearing some parallel to that of the author's father - it was republished on its eightieth anniversary by Grosset & Dunlap.
