Notes: Bottrall does his best to get off on the wrong foot, proffering 'a note to you via John Lehmann' on 21st September regarding 'your two charming poems in New Writing No. 31', which he proceeds to criticise quite thoroughly in terms of its success in carrying out the 'completely original' structure. The following letter attends to Tiller's points in reply, again submitting a lengthy exposition of his task - which can essentially be boiled down to his insistence that 'Intention is not enough'.
