Notes: Inscribed on the flyleaf by one of the 'contemporaries' featured: 'From George Oliver ("Oliver Onions", in continuation of the late Randolph Edgar's bequest, March 1934'. The Edgar bequest of Onions' work was to Harvard College, but there is no sign of this having ever reached the institution - the inscription probably refers rather to Onions' contribution here, which is 'A Note on the Late Randolph Edgar', and discusses the bequest.
