Notes: A parody of the Decadents and Symbolists then in vogue, aping what its authors regarded as the worst of their obscurantist extravagances. This is the third edition of the work, and includes Vicaire's excellent 'Vie d'Adoré Floupette', written as 'Marius Tapora, Pharmacien de 2e classe' - present from the second edition of the work, it adds another meticulous layer to the fabrication, though the identity of the true authors was more-or-less known by the time the first edition had been published.
