'The Day' [Broadside poem.]

Publication Details: [1914]

Notes: First printed in the Daily Express, August 1914 - the poet gained the name of 'the Bath Railway Poet' from his day-job as a railway porter, as the introductory text relates, hazarding that he might also attain 'the rank of a national poet'. This, his best-known poem, is an upbraiding of their adversaries for their war-mongering.
