Notes: A sumptuous edition, distinguished by the numerous copper-plate engravings, many of which were originally used in Plantin's polyglot bible (1569-72), but 36 of which appear here for the first time. A number of engravings for the Old Testament were designed by Pieter van der Borcht (1545–1608) and Pieter Huys (1519–1581), while Crispin van der Broeck (1524–1591) designed the majority of the New Testament illustrations.
