Notes: A very rare anthology, religious, as per the title, ranging from Milton to the present (Goldsmith, The Deserted Village, first published 1770). Oxford (Regent's Park), Rylands, and Johns Hopkins only in ESTC. 'William Pine holds an important place in the history of Bristol printing because of the excellent quality of his work. He was the printer of the Bristol Gazette from 1767, and in 1774 he produced a Bible in pearl type, then the smallest size made.
