Notes: Goldreich's abstract figures and sketchy outlines are a fitting accompaniment to this collection of tales, his style clearly evoking the ancient rock art of the San people, or Bushmen. The artist, winner of South Africa's Best Young Painter Award in 1955, was a key figure in the anti-apartheid movement; he purchased Liliesleaf Farm with Harold Wolpe and was subsequently arrested in the Rivonia Raid that lead to Nelson Mandela's imprisonment.
