Notes: Although the Privilege is dated 1550, this seems to be the first edition, and it is quite rare: not in NLM, the only copy in the US in WorldCat is the Dibner copy, now in the Smithsonian. The diminutive size of it may have contributed to its scarcity. It is a 'book of secrets, a collection of strange facts about animals and plants, with curious recipes, and an inventory of popular beliefs in medicine, natural and supernatural sciences.
