Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from A History of the Early Adventures of Washington Among the Indians of the West, and the Story of His Love of Maria Frazier, the Exile's Daughter: With an Account of the Mingo Prophet, Whose Most Singular Adventures Are Blended With the Fortunes of Washington, and His Love of the Forest Girl

Adderly, now gazing upon her in an almost alarmed state of countenance, said, Oh! Maria, why put this cruel injunction upon me? But it is your wish, and it shall be obeyed.
